Fred has served as Grace Lutheran Church’s Custodian since 2011, caring faithfully for our building and grounds so our congregation has a welcoming home for worship, fellowship, and service.
About Fred
Fred Borchers became a member of Grace Lutheran Church in February 1997. In March 2011, he accepted the call to serve as the church’s Custodian, caring for the building and grounds that support the congregation’s worship and ministry.
Fred and his wife, Joan, have five grown children and several grandchildren. Beyond his work as Custodian, Fred is active throughout the life of the congregation, serving as an usher and greeter. Joan sang soprano in the Chancel Choir for many years.
Off duty, Fred’s principal obsession is golf. Fred and Joan are both ardent sports fans — Fred cheers for the Florida Gators and Tampa Bay’s professional teams, while Joan roots for the Florida State Seminoles, the New York Yankees, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and the Tampa Bay Lightning.
