Sunday Morning Learning
9:45A.M. – 10:45A.M. – September to May
Sunday School, K3-5th Grade
Kids grow into the life of the church with this lectionary-based curriculum. Every lesson follows a four part sequence: Welcome, Hear, Respond, and Launch. Each week kids and leaders start their time together by identifying where they are in the church year and watching an animated video to set up the lesson. Next they dive into the Whirl Story Bible or the Whirl NRSV Bible together, respond to the scripture lesson with creative activities, and circle up to review the lesson and pray before begin sent out.
Periodically we do Family Sunday School. All families are invited to the faith formation activities together on that day. This year our topics are Reformation, Thankfulness, Happy Birthday Jesus!, and more.
6th, 7th and 8th Grades are our Confirmation age youth. We’re using Sparkhouse Colaborate Confirmation material. The curriculum focuses on lessons from the Bible as well as the Small Catechism. Classes meet in Holmer Hall. Youth do not need to be enrolled in the Confirmation program to attend Sunday morning classes. We periodically do service projects, go on retreats or participate in activities offered by Luther Springs, and meet for fun activities.
